POSITION TITLE QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN (HOURLY)

DEPARTMENT QUALITY

REPORTS TO QUALITY SUPERVISOR/MANAGER

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVES:

The Quality Technician is responsible for scheduling and completing functional test in accordance with the customers requirements. This person must have a good working knowledge of Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, Vibration, and Corrosion testing of automotive assemblies. Must be able to begin and complete tasks with minimal supervision. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Perform testing on received and manufactured components
  2. Perform calibration of lab equipment
  3. Perform DV, PV and IP test based on yearly plan
  4. Complete daily status reports
  5. Support incoming tests
  6. Repair or schedule repair of lab equipment
  7. Assist other inspectors as necessary
  8. Support and participate in EHS objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum 6-months Quality Control Experience preferred
  2. Minimum a 2-year degree in a technical field of study required
  3. Must have excellent mechanical abilities
  4. Proficient Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  5. Ability to develop test schedule and track results
  6. Good communication skills
  7. High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Standing up to 5 hours per day.
  • Standing up to 8 hours per day.
  • Walking up to 3 hours per day

**Job Description**

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVES:

The Assistant MP&L Manager to establish and operate efficient material flow and logistics process. MP&L must oversee material planning activity to control purchasing amounts & inventory budget. They will also assist manage Production Control activity including production schedule, to release shipping plan, and material orders to suppliers, to post all receipts and shipments, to analyze production and cycle reports. Foresee and prevent any premium freight, to ensure minimum cost and zero customer line interruption.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·       Planning Material demand linked to sales forecasts and production schedules to maintain optimal inventory levels.

·       Report Inventory Amount, DOI, and all spending within budgets

·       Manage and control discrepancies in SAP, WMS, MES

·       Build a list to expedite, and order premium freight (Air freight, Team trucking) for urgent parts in advance

·       Analyze root causes all material expedite issues and related cost, and provide reports as required

·       Manage warehouse operation, space utilization, inventory planning and delivery to plant & customer

·       Build and manage the delivery schedule of incoming containers

·       This position must be able to solve problems related to the analysis and evaluation of cost and operational data

·       Cross-Functional Collaboration closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales teams to resolve operational issues and synchronize plans.

·       Build scenario models to increase inventory efficiency with financial concept

·       Time clock management of all office staff

·       Make logistic strategy for changing global logistic circumstances

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

·       5-7 Years of MP&L experience, including managing staff

·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

·       Mandatory proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

·       Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, etc.) for data analysis and report generation.

·       Bilingual (Korean/English) Required

·       Experience in automotive manufacturing industry strongly preferred

·       Manages various employee groups: Supervisors, and salaried and hourly MP&L employees.

The MP&L Material Planner/Specialist is responsible for meeting corporate material needs through analyzing, planning, and executing material procurement activities. This position manages and coordinates material planning and logistics activities from external suppliers. Material procurement activities includes but not limited to maintain appropriate inventory levels of all parts required to seamless production schedule, to release shipping orders to suppliers, to post all receipts and shipments, to analyze production and cycle reports.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review material usage with engineering bill of materials and forecasts per customers’ plan.
  • Release material shipping orders.
  • Build a list to expedite, and order premium freight (Air freight, Team trucking) for urgent parts in advance.
  • Analyze root causes all material expedite issues and related cost.
  • Review and evaluate materials requirements, cycle counting, and inventory forecast.
  • Review daily material receipts – evaluates discrepancies in releases.
  • Responsible for consignment parts inventory, logistics, and the sales orders.
  • Responsible for logistics status of importing container from oversea countries.
  • Responsible for outside warehouse inventory and delivery.
  • Build and oversee the delivery schedule of incoming containers.
  • Design and manage forecasts for material usage vs need to increase inventory efficiency and promote cost reduction.
  • Support and participate in EHS objectives
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a field related with production and inventory control and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Materials preferred
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline driven environment.
  • For certain position functions Korean bilingual is preferred (ex. Communication with Korean suppliers and corporate office staff in Korea).

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for managing customer returns, warranty analysis, and overall product quality improvement.

This role includes performing failure analysis, process and field investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
The engineer also supports quality system activities such as APQP and Core Tools application, and works closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure product reliability and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·        Manage customer returns and warranty claims, and develop improvement plans to reduce claim recurrence.

·        Analyze customer returned parts to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.

·        Prepare and issue corrective action reports and monitor their effectiveness.

·        Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce warranty claims and enhance internal quality performance.

·        Collaborate with suppliers and customers on quality-related issues

·        Excute new program development when required.

·        Support other functions (process, customer, or supplier) as needed to achieve overall quality goals.

·        Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with APQP and automotive Core Tools.
