Fort Valley State University brings Electric Vehicle Awareness Conference to Middle Georgia
Fort Valley, GA– On Thursday, September 25, the Cooperative Development Energy Program (CDEP) at Fort Valley State University (FVS), in partnership with Georgia Power and the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility, hosted the Electric Vehicle Awareness Conference (EVAC).
Designed to offer clarity and deliver practical insights and perspective on the rapidly evolving EV landscape, the day-long event highlighted EV technology as well as the opportunities and challenges of integrating EVs into South and Middle Georgia communities.
Conference highlights included EV 101 sessions to increase public knowledge of EVs; breakout sessions exploring the future of e-mobility and EV jobs; stories from consumers who’ve switched from gas to electric; and information on the cutting-edge technology driving Georgia’s growing battery and charging infrastructure.
Following the conference, participants were able to visit the EV Expo to get a closer look at EVs and speak to EV owners and company representatives.
The 2025 EVAC engaged an audience of industry experts, tech-focused high school and college students, as well as EV dealerships, and municipal leaders seeking to bring EVs to their operations and communities. FVSU hosted the event to support South and Middle Georgia communities seeking to connect with statewide leaders, industry experts, and partners shaping the clean energy transition.
